  • utility knife
  • tea light or small candle
  • lighter or matches

Step By Step Instructions:

Step 1.

Cut a slit about an inch below the top of the
can and halfway horizontally around the can.

Step 2.

Repeat the same cut parallel to the top one
about an inch from the bottom of the can.

Step 3.

Then make a cut through the center of the two
cuts you made in the steps above.

Step 4.

You should be able to open out two flaps that
will become reflectors for the candle light.

Step 5.

Place a small candle or tea light on the bottom
of the can and light it. That’s it!

If the tab of the can is still in place you can turn it up and use it to either carry the lantern around or hang it up somewhere. When the candle burns out you can just replace it with another. Also when not in use, you can close the flaps for easy storage.
