How To Build A Sasquatch Nest

Some of the survival tips I have discovered over the years, are so simple yet very effective. Take for example the diy survival straw water filter and the diy survival debris shelter, that we looked at in the past. Today we will take a look at how to build a sasquatch nest to keep you warm in a survival situation.

This is probably one of your easy go to methods, especially if you did not have access to any man made materials such as tarps. You may have to burn a few calories gathering your required materials from the forest floor. However, it will all be worth it when your ‘nest’ is complete.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • logs
  • dry leaves
  • sleeping bag (optional)

My guess is that this shelter’s name came about from assuming this is how Sasquatches sleep at night. Anywho, all you have to do is collect logs at least the same length as your height. These will be used to build a frame. If you can find one of those huge tree roots, that will work as well.

With the frame built, all that is left is for you to fill the whole structure with dry leaves. To save time and energy, try find a location that has a surplus of dry leaves on the ground. Just scoop them up and fill up your frame. Then you can crawl in there, and cover yourself well with the leaves. If you have access to a sleeping bag, you can get into that before hoping into the nest.
