Did you know that if you went on Google and typed in the word ‘duct tape’ then selected the ‘News’ tab most of the posts you will find are on how people were tied up using duct tape? With that information in hand I decided that now would be the right time to add this post on how to escape from duct tape handcuffs.

Most robbers or kidnappers will tend to use duct tape to tie your hands, simply because it is readily available in most households. The good news is, as strong as duct tape may seem it is actually super easy to free yourself from it. Like anything in life, you just need to know how to do it and I am going to show you. Put your palms real close together when being tapped to encourage the tape to be wrapped on really tight. This will make breaking out using the technique below, way easier.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • duct tape
  • your hands

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Raise your tied hands up, so that your palms
are pointing upwards towards the ceiling or sky.
Your head must be tucked in between your biceps.

Step 2.

Rapidly swing your elbows, down and outwards.

Step 3.

As your palms come down, slap them into your
stomach or pelvis with one swift bold move.

That’s all there is to it, the duct tape should rip apart at the exact moment that your palms make contact with your stomach. Now all that is left to do is to carefully remove the duct tape around your wrists and any over your mouth. Practice this at home, many times to make sure you know how to do it in an actual survival situation.
